Job Title : R& D PREPRESS OPERATOR
Department : Technical/Operations
Reports to : R&D Prepress Supervisor
Deadline: March 31, 2023
Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the R&D/ Pre-press Supervisor, ensure that the right skills, processes, materials, information, and procedures are applied in the design process to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design layout, logos, signs, advertisements, and other communication materials.
- Produce drafts for review by clients and make revisions based on the feedback received.
- The creation of Final Customer Approval Form (FCAF) according to client request and RCPL machine specifications.
- Assist in cutting samples with the Kongsberg Machine.
- Create manufacturing design templates using ARTIOSCAD software.
- Measuring physical products and putting the right dimensions in ArtiosCad for accurate sample making, per machines specification.
- Coordinating with the Sample maker, to enable good samples at first time and ensure all samples stickers are correct.
- Label, hang and Routine checks on Die and stereo for any defects and corrections.
- Support the Ink Kitchen in Colour Matching and dispense when the need arises.
- To give regular status reports to the R&D Prepress Supervisor.
Any Other Duties Required:
- Support the Team and Production when the need arise.
- Any other duties assigned by superiors.
Educational/Professional Qualification, Experience & Skills
- Concrete experience with the following software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDraw. ArtiosCAD is an added advantage.
- University / College HND in Graphic/Communication Design or Equivalent is an advantage.
- Experience in packaging design, Color matching software, Prepress knowledge and understanding of branding.
- Ability to work efficiently in both Mac and PC environment.
- Good with MS Office with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Communication and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of prepress and print production.
- Proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines and to work effectively on different artworks.
- Possessing creative and analytical skills.
