5th Students Packaging: Research and Innovation Challenge 2023
The Students Packaging Research and Innovation Challenge is a competition that showcases the creative and innovative ideas of students in the packaging industry. Royal Crown Packaging Limited (RCPL) and the Institute of Packaging, Ghana (IOPG) collaborate to organize the competition, which has been running for four years.Winners receive cash and other prizes, as well as internship opportunities and international recognition through participation in the World Packaging Organization WorldStar Students Competition.
The 5th Edition of the competition was launched in May 2023, with teams from KNUST, University of Ghana, University of Development Studies, Ho Technical University, and Koforidua Technical University presenting their packaging designs virtually to a jury of eight on September 8.
The jury is currently carrying out independent assessments and scoring. Awards will be given to all entries, with certificates of merit and cash prizes being presented to the winners.
The top three outstanding packaging designs will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards, along with certificates and cash prizes. An award ceremony is planned for the upcoming Agrofood, Plastprintpack Exhibition in November.
