World Packaging Organisation (WPO), Institute Of Packaging Ghana (IOPG) selected industry players, Regulators, Lecturers and students of University of Ghana visit RCPL as part of a 5-day trainer of trainees packaging technology training organised in Ghana from the 2nd to the 6th of March 2020.
The  5-day intensive Packaging Technology Training which was supported by World Packaging Organisation in partnership with Institute of Packaging Ghana, BUSAC and University of Ghana was geared towards equipping participants to develop high-end packaging skills and alert all on the need to continuously practise good safety measures.
The past president of IOPG Mr Kofi Essuman who launched the program gave insights on what led to the training being organized in Ghana.
He mentioned that poor packaging has been one of the major challenge facing local manufacturers as their goods do not meet international standards.
The President of IOPG, Mr Kwesi Abaidoo, on his part, urged participants and manufacturers to make it a priority to produce state-of-the-art packaging to enable their products to compete with packaging industries at the global level.
He further urged beneficiaries to train others in their respective organisations as one of the agendas of the program was to create a ripple effect within all packaging sectors.
The WPO facilitator of the Trainer of Trainees workshop, Mr Kishan Singh is optimistic that participants are going to acquire great perceptions into the new world of packaging and apply for positive outcomes.
The event began with an opening ceremony on 2nd March which drew participants from across various industries in Ghana.
All participants, at the end of the program, were issued certificates upon the satisfactory rating of individual and group task to test their understanding of the training.
A second training session is expected to be conducted in the second quarter of the year.
On behalf of management, we wish to thank all stakeholders for making this training a reality.
We are optimistic that packaging in Ghana will experience a new level in the years to come.
